Played like a retard, Jan 28 2008

Played 2 session on Monday. Didn't have my A-game on either session. Lucky to be up overall.

Afternoon ~800 hands stats missing +$200+
Evening 973 hands 21/14/2.8 -$175

Afternoon. I was doing all kinds of retarded stuff like this:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/372589 T9s Thought I could push this nit off his overpair

And this
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/372591 72 nuff said

And this
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/372592 QQ

I was up a bunch only because I stacked this standard TAG Ace Merrill 3 times. Even though I pwned him on this day I still won't want to play with him again:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/372603 AQ When he snap-called me PF I thought I was in trouble, but I flopped good.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/372605 33 Didn't make me feel glorious, but I am never embarrassed to show down the winning hand

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/372608 AA He was extremely fed up with me after I pushed him off with a 4-bet AI PF another hand, not long after the 33 miracle, but here I flopped good already with the goods.

Evening. Had a few run-ins w/ fellow LPer JBalkenede

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/372260 AQd Easy fold PF until megafish got involved. Flop was good enough for me to hang myself.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/372261 AK Full-o-sheit line, only slightly better than a coin-flip vs 7-high
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/372263 AK Probably standard

Two other hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/372259 98s Totally butcher this. I checked turn in order to represent a smaller PP testing the waters on the flop, and hope that he would fire again with a big PP

Facebook poker disaster / Pokerstars success

A week ago I was bragging about my success in facebook poker, how I got myself 100 million chips and sold them for real money.

Well, times have changed. I have sold off maybe 60 million chips for like $3k. The remaining chips......I lost everything. Well, almost. I still have 1 million left. Yup. 1 million.

The "high stakes" games were set up so that most players only buy in with 10 big blinds so basically for me it was a preflop all-in fest w/ a range of like A5+, any PP and KQ.

When I first emerged from the scene people were unable to cope with my style and called my PFAIs w/ trailing hands like A-rag and small broadways. However as people started to know me better they adjust, they trap, and they bank their winnings (hit and run and rebuy for the minimum).

Those, coupled by tilty plays, bad luck and me playing underrolled, lead to me falling off the chart in a hurry.I've enjoyed the moments of glory and fame. Now it's back to business. I can't foresee myself spending any more significant time at facebook poker.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sunday at pokerstars was productive, as I recorded 2 winning sessions in 6max NL100. There were many circumstances where I could play tidier, especially preflop. Nevertheless, I can live with ~$800 in winnings.
Session stats
PM 1332 hands 22/14/2.4 $284.30 10.67 PTBB/100
Eve 2012 hands 20/11/2.9 $678.85 16.87 PTBB/100
Afternoon hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371412 AKc Opponent limped-4bet preflop, but I flopped the King, so I was in.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371413 65c Can I just shrug this off?......
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371414 AA I thought my preflop 4-bet was big enough
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371415 JJ Good flop but I lost my discipline when I needed it
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371416 TT I probably had more suckouts for than against on this day
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371417 AQc Feeble play turned out to be correct
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371418 86c Check flop behind?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371419
A8s The stars aligned during this hand
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371420 75s Semi-hero call
Evening hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371591 42h Why bother why bother why bother
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371592 55 He sent me on tilt just by playing solid
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371596 44 Blind vs aggro button, he thought briefly and called. Wish I didn't need help =/
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371597 44 Another blind vs button confrontation. My initial reraise was way too big, and I was lucky to successfully make my aggro opponent fold after he stuck in almost half his stack.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371598 97s stone-cold bluff
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371599 A7d Correct read allowed me to get it in with a weak pair.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371600 64d Okay to call the small preflop reraise?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371606 T9s SHIIIIIIIIIIIP
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371607 AA The entire table was trying to destroy this megadonk
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371608 AK I think he put me on AA and tried to represent a King himself
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371610 AT Nice pot
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/371611 AK So I trapped the guy who was really aggro......or did I?
I didn't forget
On December 30 2007 01:12 I wrote:
......Just when I thought I was God's gift to poker I played one of the worst sessions ever on Friday. Detailed stats are missing coz I was playing at my work PC and left the office in disgust after my last debacle without emailing those history files to myself. But I promise I'll eventually post those hands, so that you can either 1) laugh at me or 2) offer me advices if you're kind enough, and I can revisit those hands and try to learn from the mistakes.......
Here they are:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368149 QQ Unnecessary crying call
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368148 KJh Trapped
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368147 AK Successfully bluffing off my stack
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368146 99 I really don't know about this one
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368145 65h Bvb Nightmare on a good-looking flop
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368144 K9s Coolered
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368143 63h Why even bother preflop
Diamonds in the rough:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368152 KK Did my flop min-c/r make me look like I was FOS?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368151 99 Unsuccessful trapper
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368152 K9h Good flop against a fish
Hands from the past 2 days
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368134 77 Against a really aggro opponent
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368136 76c I think this is the 1st time EVER that I pull an overbet bluff
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368137 88 Set, bad turn against enthusiastic donk, couldn't fold, not thrilled
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368132 J9s Correct read on my part. His c/r was on the big side, I decided he was on a draw, so I time-called flop and snap-called turn. Unfortunately I wasn't rewarded.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368131 TT Didn't know where things went wrong, comments appreciated
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368128 AA I haven't done squat at the table and this monkey still decided to make a move.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368126 88 Bvb vs aggro opponent
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/368089 83 LOL I was sick and tired of Marshall reraising me every single time, so I decided to make a move. And then things took a really weird twist......
Move up plan on hold
......because I just destroyed another session of casino blackjack.
None of those $100 and only 2 of the $50s were in my wallet yesterday afternoon.
I'm a Doctor!
I passed my thesis defense on Friday. It was surprisingly easy. Best day of my life.
For those interested in my work, please refer to this wikipedia entry. Some random people wrote an article regarding my research field and cited my publication as an example (Reference 3)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CH_activation
So how did I celebrate?
Answer: By moving up multiple levels in stakes
I lost like $700 playing 2/4 and 3/6 (full ring) on Friday. But it was still the best day in my life. Recovered like 400 tonight playing 2/4
I swear these high stake tables are anything but rock gardens. Every session I recognize at least 1 fish per table.Somehow I didn't feel too motivated, either. I couldn't take full advantage on either day.
I also played some casino blackjack earlier today. Bought in for $100, mostly $10 per hand, counting cards attentively, adjusting bet-sizes and deviating from basic strategy when necessary. I was up $1300 at one point. Eventually lost a bunch at craps, left with $850. Can't complain too much.
